Question by polyxeni: Where are the best places to travel in South America?

Best answer:

Answer by Nirt
Depends on your interests and what kind of travelling you like to do. I just did the Bolivia Crossing tour Sept/Oct 2009 with GAP Adventures and started in Buenos Aires, Argentina and travelled west to San Pedro de Atacama in Chile, then crossed the Atacama Desert into Boliva. Stayed in LaPaz for a few days and went to Lake Titicaca and mountain biked the Worlds Most Dangerous Road in Boliva as well. I’ve heard Igaazu Falls is gorgeous. There is a variety of landscapes/trips from jungle to desert so all depends on what you want to do. Try GapAdventures.com – at least you can read some of their tours and see what all the highlights are to visit in the different areas even if you don’t book with them. Or seach other tour companies that offer tours to South America – by reading the itineraries you can get an idea of what an area’s highlights are to visit.

Question by aaaannddy: Exactly what shots should I get to travel through Southeast Asia?
People keep telling me “get your shots”, but they don’t say what shots I should get. I’m not paranoid or anything, so I only want to know the essential ones to get. Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Traveler
You don’t really “need” any. there are no immunization checks and the governments do not require any shots what so ever.
However,
Tetanus,
Hepatitis A and B
Would be beneficial.
In most areas you are safe from Malaria. You can take the meds if you want to but some have sever side effects. Hate them personally.
carry with you,
Antiseptic creams, Antibiotics. (get them when you get here, no script necessary)
bandages, pain killers, anti diareah meds. Mossy repelent.
most all these things are available in Asia at reduced costs. All the major cities have clinics that will help. There is a time lag between taking the HEP shots.
Don’t freak about this stuff. Just keep it clean. If you are scratched or cut, make sure to use antiseptic and cover with clean bandages.
Infection can be a bitch. Also, if you have a fever of any sort go to a clinic. we just lost a friend who tried to self medicate a fever. It was Dengue. He did not make it. pay attention to what your body tells you.

Question by Drew T: Travel Europe?
I’m a college student who is thinking of taking a year off to travel around Europe, or go to school over there…How much do you think it would cost me to travel around Europe (visiting most of the countries) for about nine months?

Best answer:

Answer by Maria
It depends what means of transport you’d choose, accommodation and nutrition.

Speed trains and internal flights are good options but are expensive. For low cost flights you can check:
- WizzAir
- SkyEurope
- Raynair
- Clickair
- EasyJet (not as cheap as rumor has it)
In summer there are also charter flights that can take you to more exotic or touristic villages.

Some cities in Western Europe are extremely expensive and you’ll need more than 30 – 40 euro /day to survive *this without the hotel overnights

Central and Eastern Europe are still relatively cheap, though if you ask me, Chroatia and Slovenia are as expensive as Italy.

Under the name Saigon (Vietnamese: Sài Gòn; pronunciation (help·info)), it served as the capital of the independent state of South Vietnam from 1954 to 1975. In 1975, Saigon merged with the surrounding province of Gia Định and renamed Hồ Chí Minh City (although the name Sài Gòn is still commonly used.) The city center is situated on the banks of the Saigon River, 60 kilometers (37 mi) from the South China Sea and 1760 kilometers (1094 mi) south of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.
