In the four-part BBC2 series Tropic of Capricorn, broadcast in 2008, Simon followed the southern border of the tropics region around the world. While filming Tropic of Capricorn, Simon travelled through Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique, Madagascar, Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. Question by andrew c: I travel to South America next year, are the main cities as dangerous as news etc say?
I just want to gather information from real travels on conditions in Rio and Buenos Aires etc i intend travelling to south america for a full year

i went to Quito, Ecuador for a few days and it wasnt dangerous at all and i thought it would be kinda scary cause im a blonde and wen i went to mexico wierd guys would shout after me but in ecudor ppl were really polite and it was a fun town to see.
